BATON ROUGE, La. (KSLA) - The Department of Homeland Security has released the names and criminal histories of 51 individuals detained at Louisiana Lockup , the new federal immigration detention center operating inside the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola.

Officials said the facility, operated in partnership with Louisiana, can hold up to 416 detainees and will focus on housing immigrants convicted of violent crimes.

According to DHS, the current detainees include:

26 convicted of murder

8 convicted of rape

8 convicted
