DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - The investigation into the Camp House Fire, which burned land and homes across northeast Minnesota in May, has had an update.
A Duluth man has now been cited with a misdemeanor, for his role in the destruction.
According to the DNR, 27-year-old Parker Wilson has been cited by St. Louis County with a misdemeanor charge, for allegedly failing to extinguish a campfire that led to the much larger Camp House Fire.
The DNR says that unattended campfire was believed to be left by Wilson, which then sparked the Camp House Fire on May 11th near Brimson.
The Camp House Fire burned more than 12,000 acres and destroyed more than 150 structures.
