Palm Desert officials will host an event later this month in which residents can drop off unwanted electronics at City Hall as part of an effort to be a more sustainable community.
The “Electronic Waste Collection Event” will be held from 7 a.m.-11 a.m. Sept. 20 at 73-510 Fred Waring Drive.
Residents and local businesses will be able to dispose of certain electronics free of charge, city officials said.
Accepted items includes TVs, computer monitors, computers, printers, microwaves, phones, tablets, video game systems, radios, cameras, vacuum cleaners, stereo equipment, light bulbs and non-lithium batteries.
Items that will not be accepted will include large household appliances such as refrigerators, dryers and stoves.
