A wildfire, categorized as "burning out of control" by BC Wildfire Service, was discovered in Strathcona Provincial Park on Friday afternoon.

The location is close to Buttle Lake, near the popular campgrounds, west of Campbell River.

One initial attack team and two helicopters are responding to this wildfire as of Saturday afternoon, according to the wildfire service.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
