A small wildfire was discovered in Strathcona Provincial Park on Friday afternoon.

The location is close to Buttle Lake, near the popular campgrounds, west of Campbell River.

One initial attack team and two helicopters responded to the wildfire, listed as "out of control" on Friday, according to BC Wildfire Service. By 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, the wildfire was "being held."

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
