A small wildfire discovered in Strathcona Provincial Park on Friday afternoon is "being held."

The location is close to Buttle Lake, near the popular campgrounds, west of Campbell River. According to BC Wildfire Service, there is no threat at this time to park infrastructure.

One initial attack team and two helicopters responded to the wildfire on Friday afternoon, according to the wildfire service. By 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, the wildfire was "being held."

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
