On Saturday at 3:52 p.m. a severe thunderstorm warning was released by the National Weather Service in effect until 4:15 p.m. for the Bronx and Queens as well as Nassau County.

Residents should be prepared for wind gusts of up to 60 mph.

"At 3:51 p.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Throgs Neck Bridge to Elmont to Atlantic Beach, moving east at 40 mph," says the weather service. "Expect damage to trees and power lines."

The thunderstorm is projected to possibly affect the following locations:

Freeport and Valley Stream around 3:55 p.m.

Levittown and Glen Cove around 4 p.m.

Massapequa and Jones Beach around 4:05 p.m.

According to the weather service, "For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building."
