( 25News Now ) - An independent pharmacy with stores in West Peoria and Morton will close for good later this month because its owner is retiring.

Alwan Pharmacy made the announcement Friday on its Facebook pages .

Mike Minesinger, who owns the business with his wife Nancy, is retiring, “which also means we must regretfully inform you of the upcoming closing of Alwan Pharmacies,” the Facebook post said.

Alwan will continue filling prescriptions until its last day in business on Friday, Sept. 19.

“We would like to thank all our customers for your patronage and loyalty throughout the years,” the owners said.
