DULUTH, Minn. – UMD responded Sunday evening to a possible strike by its service workers with Teamsters Local 320, which involves those in custodial, maintenance and food service.

This update comes after the union voted down the university’s “last, best and final offer” on Friday.

“While we respect our employees’ rights to collective bargaining, our priority remains ensuring that vital services are provided for our University community. We have a comprehensive plan in place if a strike occurs. In that situation, some delays or minor disruptions may occur, and we appreciate your patience and understanding,” UMD said in a statement through email to students Sunday.
