ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WILX) - Biff Poggi will take the role of acting head coach for Michigan while Sherrone Moore serves a two-game self-imposed suspension, Moore announced Monday.
Poggi was on Michigan’s staff from 2021 to 2022 before leaving to be the head coach at Charlotte. Over two years with the 49ers, Poggi went 6-16 before returning to Michigan’s staff as associate head coach this season.
Moore begins a two-week suspension this week, imposed by the university for his role in the Connor Stalions sign-stealing scandal. Michigan hosts Central Michigan this week before opening Big Ten play at Nebraska next week.
