A man who was spotted by an off-duty police officer allegedly carrying a flag with an offensive symbol will face court.

On Sunday, August 31, 2025, officers attached to Central West Police District commenced an investigation following reports a man was seen carrying a flag depicting a Nazi symbol in public view on Henry Parkes Way, about 25 kilometres east of Parkes .

He had been originally seen by an off-duty police officer around 6.30am that morning, before on-duty officers attended the scene and attempted to speak with the man before he retreated into the Goobang National Park.

Following inquiries, about 12.15pm on Monday, September 8, 2025, a 19-year-old man was arrested at Parkes Police Station.
