DWP set to deny six groups of state pensioners £300 Winter Fuel Payment after all
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has disclosed the groups of state pensioners who will not be eligible for the £300 Winter Fuel Allowance.
Six categories of people will not qualify for this benefit. These include individuals living outside England and Wales, those who were hospitalised receiving free treatment during the week of 15 to 21 September 2025 and the preceding year, and those needing permission to enter the UK with granted leave that states they cannot claim public funds.
Ineligibility also extends to those who were incarcerated during the week of 15 to 21 September 2025, residents of care homes, and recipients of Universal Credit, Pension Credit, Income Support, income-based Jobs
