SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Records released by the Texas Department of Public Safety have shed new light on the officer-involved shooting of a 29-year-old that happened after a pursuit unfolded in Robert Lee in mid-August.

In an initial statement released during the night of Aug. 16, the Coke County Sheriff's Office reported that deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop at 12:19 a.m. that morning after they “observed a Dodge pickup in the Robert Lee City Limits leaving the Allsup’s parking lot at an unsafe speed before entering State Highway 158 West (Commerce Street).”

CCSO said Torres "refused to stop and led the Coke County Sheriff's Office on a lengthy pursuit" that eventually came to an end at a residence in the 400 block of East 4th Street.
