GREENBRIER, Tenn. (WKRN) — Preserving Greenbrier's history while growing is a goal for city leaders. According to the U.S. Census, 6,898 people call the city home, the average median household income is $82,308 and there's a 69.6% employment rate.

Mayor Lanny Adcock is a proud, lifelong resident who has spent decades serving the city in various capacities. He told News 2 he never would have thought of himself as mayor, but after serving as County Commissioner, he felt prepared for the job.

"When I was a kid there were 900 people and now there is about 7,000 people," Mayor Adcock said. "I've always heard that if you're not growing you're dying, and we've grown quite a bit."
