MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — New numbers show crime is trending down in Mt. Juliet.

The Mt. Juliet Police Department credits the drop in crime to vigilant officers and license plate readers.

Now, they're launching a drone program to keep a bird's eye view of the community.

The proof is in the numbers, according to Mt. Juliet police.

They said vehicle burglaries are down by 59% from 2022, and violent crime is almost zero.

"Mt. Juliet is a safe community, and we rarely have robberies," Mt. Juliet Deputy Police Chief Tyler Chandler said. "Last year, we had two, and this year we haven't had any."

Police said hard work and technology are helping them fight crime.
