HOUMA, La. (WVUE) - Two alleged narcotics suspects who led troopers on a fatal police chase were identified Tuesday (Sept. 9) by Louisiana State Police.
The agency said 46-year-old Jonah Parfait of Houma was the driver of a pickup truck that fled an attempted traffic stop Monday afternoon, and that 31-year-old Darien Riffe of Houma was the passenger in Parfait’s truck who was fatally shot by a state trooper.
According to State Police, Riffe got out of the truck and tried to flee on foot, but “produced a firearm which resulted in a trooper discharging his service weapon.
“Riffe was struck and despite life-saving measures, was pronounced deceased on the scene.”
