LADUE — The host Ladue Rams struck for early goals in each half Tuesday night, coming away with a 3-0 victory over visiting Oakville in a Suburban Conference Red Pool match.
With the win, Ladue improved to 7-0 overall and to 2-0 in league play. Oakville is 4-1 and 2-1.
"We've done a good job all season of out-possessing teams but not scoring, so getting that goal right away definitely helped set a tone,'' Ladue coach Dave Aronberg said. "Oakville's the best attacking team we've faced to start this season, so shutting them down like we did was huge for us. That's a strong team, a team that's going to score a lot of goals this fall, and I was really pleased with what we were able to do, especially on defense. I thought we did a great job of limiting their chances.
