EAST LANSING – A kickoff was booted high into the lights at Spartan Stadium and hauled in by Alante Brown.
The Michigan State wide receiver dropped the ball at the 4-yard line before immediately scooping it up and hitting the gas.
Brown quickly took a big shot to the right leg but spun out of the would-be tackle, found an opening and headed down the sideline before finally being wrapped up after a 63-yard return.
What transpired over just 15 seconds in a nearly four-hour game the Spartans won 42-40 in double overtime against Boston College last week encapsulated his journey to this point. A plan altered, adversity endured and then finally a payoff.
