• Paula Allen, of Westville, filed a lawsuit Friday against the Hobart Police Department and Officer Adam Zormier after he allegedly made inappropriate comments to her while on the scene of her husband's arrest Dec. 24.
• Following her husband's arrest, Allen said Zormier approached her and talked to her for about 15 to 20 minutes. She said he made multiple comments underscored with sexual innuendo that made her uncomfortable.
• During an internal investigation, Zormier admitted to making comments that were inappropriate, resulting in his suspension, though specific disciplinary actions were not disclosed to Allen.
• Allen is suing for discrimination, emotional distress and other violations.
• Hobart police Chief Garrett Ciszewski emphasized that Zormier's actions do no
