A stop-and-search of men in a Birmingham street led to weapons and a haul of illegal drugs being discovered.

An 18-year-old and a 22-year-old were walking to a vehicle in Edgbaston Street, next to the city’s Bullring shopping centre, on Tuesday (September 9).

Officers stopped them and found a knife and several containers of codeine, a Class B drug.

Investigations led to police searching an address in Kings Heath , where more Class B drugs – this time cannabis, and a stun gun were recovered.

A woman aged 21 was arrested from that address.

And at a second address in Quinton, police found more drugs, an imitation firearm and a machete hidden in a loft.
