(WHTM) - Dauphin County Commissioner Justin Douglas (D) has formally announced his run for Congress with a text message to residents in the 10th District on Wednesday.

As abc27 reported on Monday, Douglas filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission to run in next year's 10th District primary.

"I’m a pastor, a Crossfitter, a former rock/metal band guitarist, and I'm someone who has never backed down from a fight," Douglas said in the campaign text message.

Douglas joins former television anchor Janelle Stelson and Army veteran William Lillich in next spring’s Democratic primary.

Stelson won the 2024 Democratic primary and lost to incumbent Congressman Scott Perry (R) by 5,133 votes, his closest electoral victor
