HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) -- A Huntingdon County man accused of shooting at his neighbor in February 2024 after a property dispute has been sentenced.
John E. Stout, 64, entered a guilty plea and was sentenced to 36 to 72 months in SCI Huntingdon for aggravated assault. He is also ordered to pay $1,300 in fines as part of his sentence. In addition to the fines, Stout is also ordered to pay restitution of $43,739.
The initial attempted murder charges were dismissed due to the plea agreement, court records show.
According to the criminal complaint, Stout told police that he had shot at his neighbor after he and the neighbor had a verbal argument due to the neighbor cutting a tree down that blocked access to his cabin.
Stout will receive credit for the 573 days that he already served
