SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The massive undertaking for Springfield Public Works and Environmental Service to pick up your storm debris leaves the question of what to do with all of it.

Following storms in April and June, the city was littered with limbs, branches, and entire trees in some cases. Since Springfield started its city-wide sweep to clean it all up for residents, thousands of yards of debris have started to pile up at the Yardwaste Recycling Center in the southwest part of town.

It is quite the sight seeing the makeshift mountain of trees and branches, says Assistant Director of Springfield Public Works Operations Eric Claussen. The video at the top of this page shows what it looks like after over a month of curbside collection.
