SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — A San Angelo man and TxDOT employee will be competing nationally at the Southwestern Equipment Operators Rodeo.

Jeremy Tisdale, an employee of TxDOT for seven years, won first place in a state-level competition, defeating 27 other hopefuls.

"This is the inaugural and it'll be the first for Texas," Tisdale said. "You have to pick up five golf balls and put them in five separate cylinders, two of which are smaller than the other. It's who can complete all five in the least amount of time."

Jake Smith, the Maintenance Section Supervisor for Robert Lee, spoke about Tisdale's work ethic and his contributions to his crew.
