Peter Mandelson has been sacked as US ambassador by Prime Minister Keir Starmer over emails to notorious paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

The former Hartlepool Labour MP, who served the town from 1992 to 2004, reportedly sent emails to Epstein prompting a party rebellion with pressure to sack him from his current role as Ambassador to the US, reports The Mirror .

Keir Starmer has now asked for Mandelson to be removed from the position after it emerged he coached Epstein through "years of torture" over underage sex charges. In 2008 the Labour veteran emailed Epstein: “Your friends stay with you and love you.” And he urged the banker to "fight for early release".
