BLACKSBURG, Va. (WDBJ) - Over 1,000 of the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets, local firefighters, EMS, and police climbed steps in Lane Stadium to remember the sacrifices made on September 11, 2001.

24 years ago, the American people vowed never to forget the tragic day when the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers came crashing down in New York City after a terrorist attack.

VT cadets and first responders walked and ran for an hour, beginning at 5 a.m. Thursday. Firefighters were in turnout gear, carrying around 50 pounds of equipment, and the names of those who lost their lives on 9/11.
