TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - A Tallahassee man has been arrested in connection with a 2024 stabbing.

Arrest documents show Xavier Roman Torres and Jose Vargas-Rodriguez got into an argument over money.

Vargas-Rodriguez allegedly owed Torres $50. In October of 2024, Torres went to Vargas-Rodriguez’s home to collect the money. The two got out of their cars and got into an argument in the front yard of the home.

The argument turned physical and, according to arrest documents, Vargas-Rodriguez thought the fight was over and headed toward his residence.

Torres then stabbed Vargas-Rodriguez in the chest before getting into his truck and driving away.

Vargas-Rodriguez was treated at a local hospital and suffered a nicked artery and a collapsed right lung.
