LESLIE COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - On Saturday, the University of Kentucky Football team will face Eastern Michigan. When the game kicks off, the Wildcats will have a special fan with them, cheering along on the side lines.

Tommy Smith is a happy, energetic little four-year-old.

He loves all things football and rooting for his favorite teams, the Leslie County Eagles and the Kentucky Wildcats.

“Yeah. I like football, basketball and soccer,” Tommy said.

Although he may seem like a typical little kid, Tommy had a different start in life.

“Tommy is a single ventricle heart patient at Kentucky Children’s. He was born with only half a functioning heart. He is only four years old and has had three open heart surgeries,” Tommy’s mom, Ashley Meyers said.

“That’s right just four,” Tommy added.
