NORTH CHARLESTON — A woman faces two charges of child endangerment after reportedly leaving her young children alone in the backseat of a car with the windows rolled up, police say.
Obdulia Lopez, 30, was arrested at 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 10 while attempting to exit a strip mall parking lot near the Rivers Avenue Target store. Police had responded to the area around 12:30 p.m. after receiving a call for service alerting that “two babies” had been left in a vehicle, according to an incident report.
Lopez had allegedly been driving away from the Ross clothing store in her 2008 Toyota Corolla when an officer stopped her. The officer identified Lopez through a Guatemalan passport and used a translator app to speak with her.
