LINCOLN, Neb. —

One day after the Nebraska Medical Cannabis Commission revised its emergency regulations, Gov. Jim Pillen signed them into law.

The governor said he would not sign any regulations unless limitations were imposed on the plants grown.

In a meeting Monday, several members of the Commission said they did not want to enforce a limit, but after an hour of discussion, they voted to restrict facilities to 1,250 plants at a time.

The commission also previously voted on a limit of four cultivators in the state, meaning 5,000 plants total may be grown. Pillen said he wanted to make sure there would not be an excess of cannabis grown in the state.
