BERWICK, Pa. — It's a clear sunny morning outside the Berwick Area YMCA, much like it was 24 years ago on September 11, 2001.
Area firefighters and community members gathered inside to remember the events that took place on 9/11 before starting their journey of climbing four flights of stairs, 43 times, representing the 110 floors of the twin towers that first responders climbed.
"I took off work and wanted to do it in remembrance of all the firefighters and basically all the first responders who lost their lives on the day of 9/11," said Joel Strohl, Hobbie Volunteer Fire Company.
