In his final social media posts, conservative activist Charlie Kirk said that Iryna Zarutska’s gruesome murder marked a turning point for America.
Zarutska, a 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee who came to America to escape the war between Russia and Ukraine , was allegedly stabbed to death aboard a North Carolina commuter train on Aug. 22 by Decarlos Brown Jr. when she was on her way home from the pizza parlour where she worked.
After her murder made headlines worldwide, Brown’s lengthy criminal history became a lightning rod for Kirk and others, including President Donald Trump, who pointed the finger at judicial lapses for letting him walk free multiple times.
One tweet, Kirk shared Wednesday, showed Zarutska looking up frighteningly at her assailant.
“America will never be the same,”
