Without opposition from members of the community, city planners voted unanimously Thursday to recommend approval of a retail complex on the north side of Central Avenue across from the Westgate Village Shopping Center.
The new complex, to be called Westgate North will include six stores and two restaurants and is projected to open by the spring or summer of 2027.
The Toledo-Lucas County Plan Commission’s staff had previously recommended approval of the design but had flagged 74 issues it found in the proposal. Most of those were code compliance matters.
