HENRY COUNTY, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Sheriffs in the metro Atlanta area are acting in solidarity alongside a pro basketball icon to support the family of North Carolina fire victims.
The Henry County Sheriffs’ Office says that they and other sheriffs from Georgia, Florida and North Carolina have partnered with Pro Basketball Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal to donate funds to the Ellis family, who lost four young sisters — Kalani Rae, Kendall Xaiya, Josephina Renee and Sophia Nachelle — in a fire in Columbus County, North Carolina on Aug. 30.
“The collaborative donation fully covers the expenses associated with honoring the girls, lifting the financial burden from the grieving family,” the sheriff’s office said.
