PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Decreasing clouds and warmer temperatures will help carry Portland into the start of the weekend.
A slowly decreasing cloud deck will help warm Portland area temperatures into the mid-70s on Friday. This is the start of Oregon and Washington's latest warming trend this week. Lingering clouds could help keep some locations along the Willamette Valley slightly cooler than forecasted on Friday.
More sunshine and warmer afternoon highs are expected to start the weekend in Portland on Saturday. Temperatures will climb into the upper 70s and low 80s with more sunshine in the mix. This late summer burst of heat doesn't last more than a day.
A weak, late-summer system will increase clouds, drop temperatures, and bring the chance of rain back to the region on Sunday. Rai
