JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WTAJ) — Three Cambria County children living with disabilities received life-changing bikes Thursday.
Jackson, Sophia and Liam took an inaugural lap around the parking lot of Parkhill American Legion Post 970 on their adaptive bikes given to them by Variety, a children's charity.
The bikes are designed to give children with disabilities a chance to experience the joy that comes from riding a bike with some help from a parent or guardian. The bikes are adjustable and able to grow with the children.
Jackson's dad, Bill Vivian, said the bike will give his son more opportunities to develop life skills.
"It gives him more opportunities to have play times with his brother and just to have, you know, more things to do outside," Vivian said.
