LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - United Independent School District has once again received an A rating from the Texas Education Agency, marking the sixth consecutive year the district has earned the distinction.
District leaders highlighted the achievement during a recent board meeting. Christina Cabello, UISD’s executive director for instructional accountability, said the rating places UISD among only six districts in Texas serving more than 20,000 students to earn the top grade.
“We’re also getting ready to launch our database strictly on growth, meaning whatever they scored in 2025, kind of giving them a prediction if you want to meet growth — meaning one year’s worth of growth, this is where the student has to be,” Cabello said.
