ATLANTA — Georgia Tech kicker Aidan Birr nailed a 55-yard field goal as time expired to give the Yellow Jackets a 24-21 win over No. 12 Clemson.

It was a more productive day for the Tigers’ offense, but it wasn’t enough to start Atlantic Coast Conference play with a win.

Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King, who helped the Yellow Jackets score 10 points on their final two drives, finished with 211 yards passing and 101 rushing.

Clemson (1-2, 0-1 ACC) has lost two of its first three games, including both games against power conference competition .

Clemson’s offense wasn’t perfect, but the Tigers generated more big plays than in their first two games. They outgained Georgia Tech 381-358. Cade Klubnik finished with 207 yards passing and 62 rushing.
