MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Mike Tomlin isn’t the only Pittsburgh football coach who’s tough to trust. Pat Narduzzi has built a solid resume of his own in that department, one that unfortunately for Pitt fans was bolstered as a result of Saturday’s Backyard Brawl.

Narduzzi’s Panthers weren’t prepared to play the Mountaineers and paid the price with a 31-24 overtime loss at Milan Puskar Stadium in the 108th edition of this game, one that featured a slow start, 14 penalties and several defensive lapses for Pitt during two fourth-quarter touchdown drives that totaled 25 plays.

All of this against a undermanned West Virginia team missing its top running back and second-best wide receiver and one that cycled through three quarterbacks a week after losing to a MAC school (Ohio).
