Jerod Mayo has kept a low profile since being fired by the Patriots in January.
He hasn’t been seen or heard from since Robert Kraft dismissed him after just one season at the helm for the Patriots.
The team’s former coach, however, surfaced at his alma mater Saturday. He took in the thrilling SEC showdown between the Tennessee Volunteers and Georgia Bulldogs at Neyland Stadium.
Mayo, who spent four seasons playing at Tennessee before becoming a first-round draft pick of the Patriots (10th overall) in the 2008 draft, watched as his school dropped a 44-41 decision in overtime to the Bulldogs.
The Volunteers (2-1) missed a potential game-winning field goal attempt as time expired in regulation.
