LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Another person has been arrested months after a shooting left a man partially paralyzed.

Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) said 45-year-old Thomas Brooks was shot more than a dozen times in the 100 block of Southland Boulevard on Jan. 4, 2025.

Cantrell Chappell, 34, was arrested Sunday and charged with first-degree assault, first-degree robbery, and possession of a handgun as a convicted felon.

According to court documents, Chappell and another suspect, Marques Barnes, fled the scene after shooting Brooks and stealing his phone, keys, and $5,500 from his pockets. Barnes was arrested in February. He's charged with first-degree assault, first-degree robbery, and possession of a handgun as a convicted felon.
