JACKSON, MI - Jackson has approved 50 applicants to the 100 Homes program nearly two years into the three-year project.
Of this, 22 homes are under construction, and 28 have been completed and sold to nearby families, City Grant Administrator Cory Mays said Thursday, Sept. 11.
The city program has received almost 2,000 applicants since its launch in October 2023. This program speaks to the need for housing in Jackson, he said.
“When we started this project, there were plenty of doubters that said Jackson doesn’t have a housing crisis,” Mays said. “I think the numbers have proven that over and over again…That housing crisis is real and it’s exciting that we’re doing something about it.”
