We're keeping a close eye on the sky across our region as we head through the week. Right now, we're certainly feeling that late summer heat. High temperatures are expected to remain well above average, with readings in the middle to upper 90s through Wednesday.

This isn't just a little warmer; we're talking about temperatures running about 7 to 10 degrees hotter than what's typical for this time of year in our region. While the actual air temperatures will be quite warm, our lower atmospheric levels are expected to keep the heat index, or "feels like" temperature, pretty close to the actual air temperature. So, while it will be hot, we're not anticipating overly extreme or unbearable "feels like" conditions that sometimes accompany these heat waves.
