A 72-year-old man from Scottsburg, whom has been reported missing by police, is also a mentally ill individual with a history of homicide who was recently released from custody.

Indiana State Police issued a Silver Alert on Monday for Roger Caldwell, who was last seen around 8:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, in Scottsburg. Police said he could be in "extreme danger."

Court records show Caldwell killed Andy Campbell, a groundskeeper at a Boy Scout camp in Charlestown, Indiana, in 1996.

Scott County Sheriff Jerry Goodin said he was just released in February to the Oxford House, which is a sober living facility in Scottsburg, he's concerned Caldwell could also be a danger to the public.
