SPRINGFIELD — The city is now accepting nominations for the 2025 Veteran of the Year award, which recognizes a resident who served in the military, constantly volunteers to help the community and is often unrecognized for the work.

Applications are available on the city’s Department of Veterans’ Services at springfield-ma.gov/hhs/veterans and must be submitted by Oct. 31. The Springfield Veterans’ Activities Committee will review the nominations and select the person members feel are most deserving.

The award winner will be announced on Nov. 3. The Veteran of the Year will march in the city’s Nov. 11 Veterans Day Parade.
