Despite a lack of DNA pointing to Joshua Hubert , prosecutors believe all the other evidence adds up to him being guilty in connection with an attack on a 7-year-old girl in 2017.

Hubert , of Worcester, is charged with forcible child rape, child rape aggravated by age, two counts of attempted murder and a single count each of kidnapping a child under 16 and strangulation, across multiple indictments in connection with the 2017 incident.

Shortly after Hubert left the party that night in August, “she’s gone. Coincidence?” Assistant District Attorney Mark McShera asked the jury during closing arguments.
