ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A gun was found at a Belleville high school on Tuesday.

Around 1:15 p.m., a Belleville Police Department School Resource Officer and Belleville West High School staff were notified of a student possibly having a firearm at the high school.

Authorities said the student was separated from other students and staff, and a search was conducted. During the search, a gun was found and seized.

The student was taken into custody at the Belleville Police Department.

Police said that there is no known threat to any students or staff. They also said that the incident appears to be isolated.
