PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland's first-ever Fried Chicken Week is in full swing until Sunday, Sept. 21, where people can get their hands on $10 finger lickin' good plates of fried chicken.

The Actual Portland -hosted event includes 39 restaurants, each featuring their own fried chicken creation doused in sauce or be it crispy perfection.

It's the tourism company's second food week after introducing the Portland Taco Week in June. Founder Linneas Boland-Godbey told KGW that he wants to showcase Portland businesses and thought that food weeks would be a good way to highlight the restaurant industry.

There are several other food weeks in Portland throughout the year, but Boland-Godbey said he noticed that fried chicken week was missing and felt like it was an underrepresented group.
