KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - It’s been three weeks since a shooting left two dead and three injured near Kansas City’s Power and Light District. KCTV5 Investigates has obtained emails showing a security discussion between Mayor Quinton Lucas, KCPD Chief Stacey Graves and other employees days following the incident.

In the early morning of Sunday, Aug. 24, shots were fired in a parking lot near 12th and Grand. Two people were killed and three others were injured in the shooting. As of Sept. 17, no arrests have been made as KCPD continues to investigate.

On Wednesday, the City of Kansas City, KCPD, the Downtown Council, and the owners of the parking lot, Copaken Brooks, announced collaborative safety measures in downtown.
