MINNEAPOLIS — The man accused of shooting and killing a Minneapolis mother outside her home had his first court appearance Wednesday afternoon.
Mariah Samuels died from her injuries after being shot 10 times on Sept. 14 .
"It's so unreal, like, I can't even believe it,” said Samuels's sister, Simone Hunter. "My sister did not deserve to die, not to be murdered like that so, brutally, she did not deserve that.”
Police charged her ex-boyfriend, David Wright , with second-degree murder and illegal possession of a firearm.
According to the complaint, Samuels was granted an order of protection against David in late August.
